I recently graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of Oregon. I have a passion for furniture, craft, and thoughtful details. I appreciate the care and love that goes into hand-crafted furniture and put a LOT of both into the piece I'm submitting to this competition. This piece is particularly dear to me as I designed it to display a chess set that was given to me by my grandmother. I spent a lot of time sourcing the best lumber I could find and even incorporated some Cherry that I moved from Boston to Bend, Oregon over three years ago.
