Milan Bhullar is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer from India and a current graduate student pursuing her MFA in Furniture Design from Savannah College of Art & Design. She received her Bachelors in Architecture from India and worked as an Architect for 6yrs. Her love for making and working by hand pushed her towards furniture design, ceramic arts and textile arts. Milan's work is centered around the act of making, touching, feeling and engaging with materials which serves as a form of therapy for the artist. She uses her craft as a means of self-discovery, introspection and healing. Her work explores themes of hyper-optimism and resilience and is driven by identity and self-expression. Milan doesn’t have a preference of material to work with as long as it allows tactility. She is currently exploring clay, textile, metal, wood and plastics as materials in her works.
